Viewers in eastern Iowa miss Jadarian Price touchdown for Notre Dame

Oops.

It’s nice to see local businesses be able to advertise when a Notre Dame football game is on. However, that advertisement shouldn’t come in the middle of any play, let alone a scoring play. For viewers watching the Irish play Texas A&M in the eastern part of Iowa, that was their unfortunate experience.

Just as [autotag]Jadarian Price[/autotag] was beginning his 47-yard go-ahead touchdown run, the game feed suddenly cut away for a commercial for a local car dealership. After 30 seconds of something besides football, the game came back on the air, and the touchdown already had been scored.

Here’s what the aforementioned viewers saw:

We’re not going to pretend to know how TV stations program their commercial breaks, but there’s no excuse for this. The local ABC affiliate undoubtedly was getting some major viewership for this game, and this was a great disservice to those viewers. Steps need to be taken so that this doesn’t happen again.
