No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson started off the NBA season restart by recording the first five points for the New Orleans Pelicans against the Utah Jazz.

Williamson was initially listed as a game-time decision by the Pelicans but word surfaced about an hour prior to the tip-off that he would play and start for the Pelicans.

Based on his early play, Williamson showed no signs of any issues.

Williamson began the contest by converting an And-1 situation after getting fouled on a layup attempt. He followed up that play by finishing off a pass from Lonzo Ball for the basket.

The Pelicans did not put a minutes restriction on Williamson in the restart opener but the plan was that he would play in short bursts. With some questions about his status for the game, Williamson appeared to be in good shape during his first stint on the floor and did not show much rust.
