Class of 2024 guard Elliot Cadeau is one of three five-star recruits committed to North Carolina for the 2024 cycle.
The point guard out of Missouri just wrapped up his junior season at Link Academy by winning the GEICO national championship on Saturday, beating 2023 UNC commit Zayden High and Compass Prep out of Arizona.
While Cadeau had a solid tournament all around, it what was he said after the title game that has UNC fans’ attention. In an interview on ESPN, Cadeau was asked about his plans for his senior year and whether or not he would classify.
His response? He left the door open.
“I’m not sure yet,” Cadeau said. “As of now, 2024 I’ll see you guys in Chapel Hill.”

There have been rumors floating that Cadeau could reclassify and join the 2023 class, especially with the Tar Heels having open scholarships. UNC does have R.J. Davis and Seth Trimble coming back plus Simeon Wilcher in the 2023 class.
Cadeau is more of a true point guard like Trimble, so it may not hurt if he did reclassify. However, him staying in the 2024 class isn’t a bad idea either especially with the talent coming in for the Tar Heels.
