Video: Shavkat Rakhmonov’s sister Sora calls for UFC contract after TKO win

Shavkat Rakhmonov says his 24-year-old sister Sora will be in the UFC “soon” after she picked up her third consecutive win.

The second brother-sister duo in UFC history could soon be on the horizon with [autotag]Sora Rakhmonova[/autotag] looking to join her sibling [autotag]Shavkat Rakhmonov[/autotag].

Rakhmonova, a 24-year-old women’s bantamweight prospect and the younger sister of the undefeated UFC welterweight contender, added to her budding resume on Friday when she scored a second-round TKO win at NFC 51.

It was a furious finish from Rakhmonova at Almaty Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan, because in the second round she hurt opponent Valeria Karygina (4-6-1) with hard punches before unleashing a series of strikes that forced the referee to wave it off.

It appears Rakhmonova hopes the result will earn her a UFC contract, because she sent a simple question to company president Dana White in her celebratory post after the win (via Instagram):

Rakhmonov endorsed his sister’s push to the octagon, as well, sharing a post on social media simply stating that she will be there “soon” (via Twitter):

If signed, Rakhmonova and Rakhmonov will become the first brother-sister combination to simultaneously fight under the UFC banner. Mizuki Inoue and Naoki Inoue are the only other pair to make it to the sport’s premier organization, but their brief tenures did not have overlap.
