The 2023 offseason rolls on for North Carolina as they get set to host an open practice on Saturday and then the annual Spring Game in April. There’s a lot of optimism with this team and a lot of that is because of quarterback Drake Maye.
After having a big first year as a starter in 2022, North Carolina has high hopes once again for Maye and if they want to achieve their goals, the quarterback will have to continue to play at a high level. And this offseason, Maye is putting in the work with his close friend and former UNC quarterback Sam Howell.
A video posted on Twitter shows both Sam Howell and Drake Maye working out together on the football field:

It’s no secret that Howell and Maye are close friends. Both have spoken about it in the past and while they were at UNC together, Howell helped Maye out as much as he could.
As Howell gets set for the chance to be the starter in his second season with Washington, Maye is hoping to improve his draft stock and potentially be the top pick in the 2024 draft. And maybe the two could face off against each other as starters in the league one day.
