The [autotag]Nate Diaz[/autotag] era in the UFC, presumably, is over and we’re waiting on news of his next stop.
Diaz fought out his contract with a submission of Tony Ferguson in September. His next stop is anyone’s guess, but it could be boxing, bareknuckle boxing, or staying put in MMA, but with a new promotion.
And if the latter proves to be the case, Bellator might have as good a shot as any promotion at procuring Diaz’s services, considering he has history in Strikeforce in 2006. Granted, that was but a pitstop on his resume, but his brother Nick has a deeper history with Bellator boss Scott Coker and could have some influence.
Bellator standout and former featherweight champion A.J. McKee is coming off a win over Spike Carlyle in his move to lightweight and said he’d be glad to welcome Diaz to the promotion.
But is Diaz in Bellator the right move? And what about a matchup with someone like McKee?
Those are the questions we asked our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Danny Segura with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia. Check out their responses in the video above.
“Spinning Back Clique” is released each Tuesday on MMA Junkie’s YouTube channel. You can watch the full episode in the video below.
