Two of MMA’s most flashy strikers unexpectedly squared off inside the PFL cage Friday in Dublin, though it seems one of them is still not under a major promotion contract.
French kickboxing star [autotag]Cedric Doumbe[/autotag], who is under contract with PFL, was brought into the cage for an interview by the promotion’s play-by-play man Sean O’Connell. When asked about his next fight, Doumbe name-dropped [autotag]Michael Page[/autotag], who was in attendance cageside as a VIP.
“MVP” then entered the cage for a friendly, smile-filled faceoff with Doumbe as the PFL broadcast deemed the potential matchup a “fight in the making.”
The optics caused some viewers confusion as to Page’s contractual status. However, Page seemed to indicate his future is still uncertain. Page’s contractual ties to Bellator ended earlier in 2023. It seems his free agency is ongoing, though he’s generated interest from the UFC, as well.
Below, check out the full faceoff between the two fighters.
