The MMA landscape changed significantly when PFL purchased Bellator in November. The two biggest MMA organizations in the US behind the UFC became one, creating a force that will begin its new journey in 2024.
UFC CEO [autotag]Dana White[/autotag] was asked about PFL’s big business move and comments by its founder Donn Davis during the UFC on ESPN 52 post-event news conference in Austin, Texas, seemingly taking exception to the questions.
“One sh*tty organization that sells no tickets and nobody watches buys another sh*tty organization that sells no tickets and nobody watches,” White told MMA Junkie. “It sounds like a f*cking winner to me, boy. Right? Woo! Go, guys!”
Davis believes that PFL now has the roster to compete with the UFC to become a co-leader in MMA. He also believes White is “worried” by the acquisition of Bellator.
Is White annoyed with questions about the rival promotion considering the UFC’s position as a solid leader in the space, or is there real concern about the No. 2 promotion gaining ground?
Our “Spinning Back Clique” panelists Dan Tom, Matthew Wells, and Brian “Goze” Garcia discuss White’s latest comments on the subject with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia.
