The San Antonio Spurs traveled to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night for a date with the New York Knicks. It was Victor Wembanyama’s debut in The Big Apple, but he was quickly overshadowed by a dominant Knicks victory. New York jumped out to an early lead, and they kept it for the remainder of the game, earning a wire-to-wire-victory.
Wembanyama was held to just 14 points on 3-of-14 shooting from the field and 0-of-4 shooting from behind the three-point line. Mitchell Robinson did a great job on the French phenom, and for the second game in a row, the Spurs got absolutely routed by their opponent.
After the game, Wembanyama spoke about the result, noting that the Spurs are still young and will learn from their mistakes. (H/t Andrew Lopez of ESPN)
