The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the worst teams in the Western Conference for most of the season. However, they’ve been slowly improving as of late. Victor Wembanyama has been finding more and more of a rhythm as the season has gone on, and the rest of the team is learning how to play together around him effectively.
On Friday night, the Spurs earned an overtime victory over the New York Knicks despite Jalen Brunson pouring in 61 points. They stood firm, held off the Knicks after they mounted a comeback, and picked up their third victory in a row.

“I would say [that] game embodied a lot of our weaknesses,” Wembanyama said Friday. “We’ve been able to erase [them] a little bit throughout the season, more and more. This is the type of contrast we want to see in this season.”
Wembanyama posted a 40-point, 20-rebound showing against the Knicks, leading the Spurs to victory.
