As is the case with most young basketball teams, everything isn’t going to be perfect all the time. No team has ever been truly perfect, but for young teams like this year’s San Antonio Spurs, the inconsistencies often show up on the court more often than most. That’s what happened on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.
The Spurs were up by double digits for a large portion of the game, but the Raptors made a big comeback in the second half. Toronto ended up winning the game 123-116 in overtime behind a monster performance from Scottie Barnes, and the Spurs’ youth showed.
After the game, star rookie Victor Wembanyama reflected on a lesson from head coach Gregg Popovich that reared its head against the Raptors.
