Victor Wembanyama makes history with 5×5 game in Spurs loss to Lakers

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama became the youngest player to ever record a 5×5 game in their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has been amazing this season. While the team hasn’t been winning many games, the youngster continues to show out. Night after night, he’s putting up stats that most people can’t believe. And on Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, Wembanyama made history.

He became the youngest player in NBA history to record a 5×5 game, which occurs when a player has at least five points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Though the Spurs lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, Wembanyama ended the night with 27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and five blocks. He shot 7-of-16 from the field and 3-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc.

The Spurs’ official YouTube channel posted the highlights from the game, noting his historical night.

At just 20 years old, Wembanyama is already writing his name into the NBA’s history books. And if his current talent level is any indication of what he could become, the rest of the NBA needs to watch out.
