Victor Wembanyama, Jordan Walsh debut at TD Garden in Celtics’ blowout of Spurs

Wemby did not disappoint even in limited minutes, and a number of deep rotation players got a chance to play late in the game, including the NBA debut of Boston rookie wing Jordan Walsh.

To the surprise of very few fans of either team, the Boston Celtics blew out the San Antonio Spurs 117-98 at TD Garden on Wednesday night, spoiling rookie Spurs star Victor Wembanyama’s first tilt at the Celtics’ home court.

Though the game actually started out close, Boston blew the game open in the latter part of the first half, and never relinquished their stranglehold on the game. The Spurs tried to make a tilt of it in the third quarter, but a strong showing by star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum in that frame put the contest out of reach for good.
