Victor Wembanyama was in tears while talking about how happy he was to be drafted into the NBA.

The San Antonio Spurs have finally made their top 2023 NBA Draft selection official, picking French basketball phenom Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama enters the NBA as one of the most hyped-up prospects in the sport’s history, standing more than seven feet tall and promising elite play for the Spurs.

Speaking with ESPN’s Monica McNutt after being picked, Wembanyama sat with his family and was clearly overwhelmed with emotion over the life-changing moment.

“Accomplishing something that I’ve been dreaming of my whole life, getting that sentence from Adam Silver, I’ve dreamed of it so much,” Wembanyama said while sporting his Spurs draft hat. “I gotta cry.”

He also shared a quick hug with his family on the interview couch, highlighting how much this moment means to all of the Wembanyamas.

This is just a really cool moment for Wembanyama, who will surely make his mark on the NBA sooner than later once he takes the court for San Antonio.
