Texas head coach Vic Schaefer landed a highly sought-after four-star guard to his 2022 recruiting class on Monday.

Former Wisconsin commit Jordana Codio announced via Twitter that she will be committing to the University of Texas. The Florida native averaged 22.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game for American Heritage private school last season. She was a team captain and leading scorer prior to suffering an injury to her right leg.

Codio has a 6-foot-1 frame and is rated the nation’s 48th best prospect in the class of 2022 and the No. 11 guard according to ESPN.

As a senior, she is expected to play her final high school season at Montverde. It’s not the only time she’s had a change of heart. In June 2019, Codio verbally committed to Wisconsin after participating in a recruiting camp on campus.

Codio is an excellent addition to Schaefer’s roster as she is a very versatile player with tremendous upside that possesses good size and length.
