VFL Morgan Cox toils as long snapper for Ravens

Highlighting VFL Morgan Cox and his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens

BALTIMORE — A former Tennessee football player began the 11th season of his NFL career Sunday.

He may not have the most recognizable name, but Ravens’ long snapper Morgan Cox continued his illustrious career toiling in obscurity for Baltimore.

He appeared in his 151st NFL career game for Baltimore on Sunday as the Ravens routed the Cleveland Browns, 38-6, in the season opener for both teams at M&T Bank Stadium.

During his career, Cox, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2010, has been named to the Pro Bowl three times (2015, 2016 and 2019) and was a member of the Ravens Super Bowl XLVII championship team.

He is a native of Collierville, Tennessee and played high school football at Evangelical Christian School.

From there, he walked on to play for the Volunteers. He was UT’s long snapper from for three seasons between 2007-09 and was a member of the Southeastern Conference’s Honor Roll during that time.
