ORLANDO — The Boston Celtics and former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams will face a Game 7 in the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals against the league’s defending champions.
The second-seeded Toronto Raptors forced a decisive game when they nabbed a 125-122 double-overtime victory over the third-seeded Celtics Wednesday night at the HP Field House in the Central Florida bubble.
Williams, a power forward and first-round draft pick by the Celtics in 2019, scored six points and pulled down a rebound for Boston in the loss.
The Celtics and Raptors will play the deciding seventh game in Orlando Friday at 9 p.m. ET.
Williams left Tennessee following his junior season on Rocky Top. At the time of his departure, he was the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
