ORLANDO — The Boston Celtics continued their perfect run in the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs Sunday afternoon with a 112-94 victory over the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors.
The third-seeded Celtics, who swept the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round, have darted to a 1-0 series lead against the second-seeded Raptors.
The Celtics did not get much from former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams.
Williams, a first-round pick by Boston in the 2019 NBA draft, played eight minutes in the Celtics’ victory Sunday at HP Fieldhouse in the Central Florida bubble.
He, however, had zero points, no assists and no rebounds in the victory.
Williams left the Volunteers’ program after his junior season in 2019 as the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
