Vanderbilt basketball transfer Jordan Wright commits to LSU

Wright started 17 of 34 games for the Commodores, finishing third on the team in scoring and second in assists and rebounds.

After seeing several players depart through the transfer portal following a losing season, LSU coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] has landed his first transfer commitment this offseason.

On Wednesday, Vanderbilt transfer [autotag]Jordan Wright[/autotag] pledged to LSU. The 6-foot-6 wing player is a native of Baton Rouge who attended The Dunham School, and now he’ll come home to bring some big-time SEC experience to the roster.

As a senior with the Commodores in 2022-23, he played in 34 games with 17 starts. He averaged 10.6 points per game (third on the team) and 5.1 rebounds while totaling 71 assists, both of which were second on the team.

Wright was also the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022.

After going just 2-16 in SEC play this season and losing 14 games in a row at one point, the Tigers need all the help they can get entering the second season under McMahon.
