The Vancouver Canucks (10-6-3) take on the Boston Bruins (10-9-3) Tuesday. Puck drop from TD Garden is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Canucks vs. Bruins odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
Season series: First meeting; tied 1-1 last season
The Canucks ended a slide that saw them lose 3 of 4 with a 4-3 win in Ottawa Saturday. LW Jake DeBrusk netted his 4th and 5th goals of the season in the affair. They’ve struggled without C J.T. Miller (personal) and G Thatcher Demko (knee). Demko is on the road trip and could be nearing a return.
The Bruins have won 2 straight since firing newly-hired St. Louis Blues coach Jim Montgomery. They won 1-0 against Utah Friday and 2-1 in Detroit Sunday. LW Brad Marchand scored his 6th goal of the season Sunday. RW David Pastrnak has gone 4 straight games without a goal, which has only happened once this season.

Canucks at Bruins projected goalies
Kevin Lankinen (9-3-2, 2.74 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Jeremy Swayman (6-7-2, 3.30 GAA, .887 SV%, 1 SO)
Lankinen got back on track in his last start, stopping 26 of 29 in a 4-3 final Saturday in Ottawa. He allowed 4+ goals in 3 of 4 starts before that. The 29-year-old Fin has played sparingly in a backup role the last few years and hasn’t faced Boston in a while.
Swayman has been very Jekyll and Hyde of late, allowing 1 goal on 20 shots against Detroit last time out and 2 goals on 22 shots against the Blues Nov. 12. However, in 2 starts between those, he allowed a combined 12 goals. He stopped 36 of 39 in a 3-2 OT loss to Vancouver last year.
Canucks at Bruins picks and predictions
Prediction
Bruins 4, Canucks 2
Moneyline
The Bruins are last with 2.32 goals per game. They’re 25th with 27.3 shots per game, and their former coach really emphasized quality over quantity in terms of shot selection. The Bruins outshot the Wings 29-20 in the last game and 31-21 against Utah. The Canucks have issues between the pipes. Pastrnak and the B’s break out.
Take the BRUINS -120.
Puck line/Against the spread
We’re going with KEVIN LANKINEN OVER 2.5 GOALS AGAINST (-135). He has allowed 3+ goals in 3 straight and 4 of 5. His window is closing with Demko nearing a return, and he clearly feels it.
Over/Under
The Canucks have cashed 3 straight Overs. The Bruins are 2-7-1 O/U in their last 10, but as we outlined, they are shooting the puck more. Lankinen is allowing them to go in.
I like the OVER 5.5 (+105).
