The North Carolina Tar Heels’ baseball program will open up its 2024 season next week as expectations are high in Chapel Hill. Scott Forbes has another talented team this year and with the Tar Heels being predicted to finish second in the ACC Coastal Division, they are hoping to exceed expectations.
And at the center of UNC’s roster this year is Vance Honeycutt, once again.
On Tuesday, Honeycutt was honored again as he made the Baseball America First Team All-American team. The team is selected by a panel of major league scouting directors who are asked to make their selections based on performance, talent, and professional potential.

For Honyecutt, he was also named the best Athlete and Fastest Runner among the scoring directors.
Honeycutt had a monster freshman season for the Tar Heels before dealing with injuries in his sophomore season. An injury towards the end of the year caused him to miss the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
