Utah State comes into the game on a two-game losing streak.  After losses to UNLV and SDSU, Utah Sate will look to put another tick in the win column tonight against a 7-8 Air Force squad.  Up to this point, Air Force is 1-2 in conference play while Utah State isn’t much better at 2-2.

Air Force is led by senior forward, Lavell Scottie.  Scottie is averaging nearly 15 points a game.  He is also the Falcons leading rebounder; grabbing nearly 6 boards a game.  At 6’7”, Scottie is one of the Falcons taller players.  This will be an interesting matchup against the Aggies, who are the tallest team in the nation.

Another Falcon to keep your eye on is 6’8” center, Ryan Swan.  As the second leading scorer, Swan is averaging almost 14 points a game.  Swan is definitely capable of filling up the box score.  Earlier this season Swan tallied 25 points in a win over UCR.

The Aggies have struggled offensively of late.  They are led by senior guard, Sam Merrill, who is averaging nearly 18 points a game.  Merrill has struggled from the field in the last two outings.  He will need to make more than free throws in order for the Aggies to get a win.

Justin Bean has become the number two scoring option for the Aggies.  Bean is averaging nearly 14 points a game. A lot of his points come from offensive rebounds and hustle plays. Utah State will need another scoring option to break out this season if they stand a chance at winning the Mountain West.

This should be a good game.  If the big men for the Aggies are healthy and ready to play then Utah State should have the edge in this one.  If the Falcons are able to run the ball and play fast then they might be able to pull off the upset.
