The Utah Jazz (3-11) and San Antonio Spurs (7-8) meet Thursday. Tip-off from Frost Bank Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Jazz vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Jazz are coming off a cover as 10.5-point underdogs in a 124-118 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday with the Over (234) hitting. Utah is 0-3 straight up (SU) and 2-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 3 games.

The Spurs upset the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder 110-104 as 9.5-point underdogs Tuesday while the Under (222.5) hit. F Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 22 points off the bench.

The road team has won and covered each meeting this season, while the Under has gone 2-0. In the most recent meeting Nov. 9, Utah won 111-110 as a 6.5-point underdog at San Antonio while the Under (221.5) cashed. Spurs C Victor Wembanyama had 24 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocks in the losing effort, but he’ll be sidelined Thursday with a knee injury.

Jazz at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 115, Spurs 114

Moneyline

The JAZZ (+120) may be on a 3-game skid, but they have gone 2-1 ATS, and they almost covered in the lone ATS loss — a 116-105 setback as 9.5-point underdogs at the LA Clippers Sunday.

I prefer backing a team like the Jazz, who have been playing slightly above expectation and losing close, over the injury-riddled Spurs who are coming off an upset win over the best team in the West on national TV Tuesday.

Expect San Antonio to have a let-down game.

BET JAZZ (+120).

Against the spread

I’m not against playing Utah +2.5 (-110), but I prefer the ML at plus odds considering how injured the Spurs are.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Under has hit in the Spurs’ last 2 games without Wembanyama, but it was odd that they managed to hold Oklahoma City to just 104 points Tuesday. San Antonio coming off such a fluky performance against the Thunder makes me want to fade its defense entirely.

BET OVER 223.5 (-110).
