KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee baseball team netted a pair of local signees during the fall signing period.
Both are currently high school seniors and play for two of the top prep programs and both have won Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association State Championships.
Christian Academy of Knoxville player Austen Jaslove and Farragut High School left-handed pitcher Drew Patterson both signed to play for the Volunteers in 2021.
Jaslove, a four-year varsity player for the Warriors, has played for three consecutive state championship teams.
The Warriors claimed consecutive Division II-A crowns in 2018 and 2019. CAK also won the Division I Class AA State Championship in 2017.
At CAK, Jaslove plays for Tennessee high school coaching legend Tommy Pharr.
Patterson, a left-hander for the Admirals has also had a solid career for Farragut.
He started the 2019 Class AAA State Championship Game in Murfreesboro. Farragut won that tilt to claim the state title.
