USC WR Drake London comments on his pre-draft visit with Chiefs

USC WR Drake London told KSHB-TV’s Aaron Ladd about his pre-draft visit with the #Chiefs, plus what it’d be like to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs have hosted a ton of receivers on pre-draft visits, including USC WR Drake London.

In a brief interview ahead of the 2022 NFL draft in Las Vegas, London revealed to KSHB-TV reporter Aaron Ladd that he took a visit with the team. This shouldn’t come as a big surprise as London suffered an ankle injury this past season, which likely was something the Chiefs’ training staff wanted to get a closer look at. Before the injury, he posted a career season with 88 receptions for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns.

London commented on his experience with the pre-draft visit, emphasizing his meeting with coaches and seeing a winning culture in action.

“You know, I took a visit over there,” London told Ladd. “It was great, meeting with all the coaches, meeting with Big Red (Andy Reid). I think it was really, really cool to see a winning culture like that.”

Asked about what it would mean to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes, London had a bold take about the Chiefs’ signal-caller.

“That’s a generational talent,” London said. “That’s like catching passes from Tom Brady, you know? That is our generation’s Tom Brady, at the end of the day. I think he has a more-than-bright future ahead of him.”

It’s a safe bet that London would like to be a part of that future should he get the chance. Unfortunately, he may not get that chance with recent buzz that he could be the first receiver off the board in the 2022 NFL draft. We’ll see how things unfold tomorrow night, though.
