The Oregon Ducks are making another splash in the transfer portal, this time landing a top playmaker who could be an instant-impact player for the team.
Former USC wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. announced that he would be transferring to Oregon to continue his college career. Bryant has 3 years of eligibility remaining if he wishes to use them all.
After a breakout season with 7 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2021, Bryant saw his role drastically diminish with the Trojans in 2022 after incoming transfers like Jordan Addison, Brenden Rice, and Mario Williams pushed him out of the rotation. Now he will come to Eugene and compete with the likes of Traeshon Holden, Tez Johnson, and Kris Hutson for a starting spot alongside Troy Franklin.
With Bo Nix returning for one more season in Eugene, Bryant has to feel confident that he will be surrounded by elite athletes who can help him take his game to the next level.
It is unclear how many scholarships the Ducks have remaining this offseason. On Saturday, former Colorado linebacker committed to transfer to Oregon, but has not been confirmed whether or not he will be a scholarship or walk-on player. Depending on if he is taking a scholarship or not, the Ducks could have either two or one remaining.
