USC to play Arizona State or Oregon State in Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinals

#USC is the No. 3 seed at the #Pac12MBB Tournament. The Trojans face No. 6 ASU or No. 11 OSU on Thursday night in Vegas.

The USC Trojans are not fully healthy. Drew Peterson is battling back spasms and Vince Iwuchukwu is dealing with back soreness. They really needed a first-round bye at the 2023 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament. They earned it.

The Trojans are the No. 3 seed for this event. They will therefore play the winner of the first-round game between the No. 6 seed and the No. 11 seed. The 6 seed is Arizona State, whom the Trojans just defeated on Saturday night. The 11 seed is Oregon State, a team which beat the Trojans a month ago and put them on the middle of the bubble. USC has since played its way onto the good side of the bubble by winning five of six games.

The Arizona State-Oregon State game is the last of four first-round games on Wednesday, March 8. The USC game against ASU or OSU will accordingly be the last of the four quarterfinals on Thursday, March 9. The game will be the second half of the two-game night session. Because this is the second game of a night-session doubleheader, the exact start time isn’t known right now. The game will start 30 minutes after the end of the previous quarterfinal, which begins at 6 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The estimated start time is 8:30 p.m. Pacific, but if the previous game runs long (or short), the start time will be adjusted. ESPN has the broadcast.
