USC, the all-time leader in most Summer Olympians, brings 62 Trojans to Paris

USC brings over 60 athletes to Paris in search of Olympic glory.

No American university has produced more Summer Olympic athletes than USC. The Trojans have sent over 500 athletes to the Summer Games, winning over 300 medals. Stanford is the only other American university to win over 300 Summer Olympic medals. Stanford is also the only other American university to win at least 150 Summer Olympic gold medals. The Trees are tied with USC at 153 apiece.

USC continues its Olympic journey this week in Paris, preparing for the latest fortnight of international sports on the biggest stage imaginable. The Trojans are bringing 62 athletes to Paris. They are almost certain to produce at least one gold medalist and continue their incredible streak of Summer Olympics with at least one gold medal. That streak goes back to 1912 in Stockholm, Sweden. A 112-year streak will extend to 116 years as long as one Trojan Olympian can stand on the top of the medal podium in France.

An Olympic legacy begun by Emil Breitkreutz in St. Louis in 1904, and continued by Fred Kelly in Stockholm in 1912, continues this week in one of the world’s great cities. The Summer Olympic Opening Ceremony takes place this Friday in Paris.
