USC target Chauncey Gooden stars in late-August kickoff week event

A USC target will be part of a nationally-televised high school game on Friday, Aug. 25, the night before the Trojans’ season opener.

A USC target will be part of a high school showcase in a few weeks. Lipscomb Academy in Nashville (Tennessee) owns back-to-back Division II Class AA titles and a 21-game win streak. Kevin Mawae takes over for Trent Dilfer as the Mustangs’ head coach.

Lipscomb will face Saraland High School of Alabama in late August, part of the so-called “Kickoff Week” of high school showcase football games which will mark the beginning of the new football season.

Saraland’s roster includes three highly-recruited 2025 prospects: Alabama commit Ryan Williams at wide receiver; quarterback K.J. Lacey, who has committed to Texas; and defensive tackle Antonio Coleman.

Lipscomb is led by USC Trojan target, 2025 four-star iOL Chauncey Gooden. Gooden stands in at 6 foot 4, 315 pounds has major offers from Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Auburn, USC and many more.
