USC target and five-star RB sets commitment date, names top schools list

USC hopes Mater Dei’s Nathaniel Frazier won’t choose Oregon this coming weekend.

Santa Ana (Calif) Mater Dei five-star running back Nathaniel Frazier named his top eight schools in early July. He said he wanted to commit before his senior season. That list of eight has been cut down to a final four. Frazier now has his decision date.

Frazier will make his college decision on August 6, choosing among Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Texas A&M. His decision will be made live on the On3 YouTube channel that afternoon at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

The USC Trojans did not make the cut. The Trojans have failed to land top recruits over the past three weeks after having a lot of success through the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Is it time for Trojan fans to be concerned?

Nate Frazier averaged 11.4 yards per carry last season. Frazier had only 61 total carries, but he made the most of his touches. Frazier scored nine rushing touchdowns and recorded 791 rushing yards.

According to experts at 247Sports, Georgia is the front-runner. The Bulldogs have received three crystal ball predictions for Frazier since July 20. Frazier is set to take an official visit to Georgia during the weekend of Sept. 15.

Frazier is the No. 4 running back in the 2024 class and is the No. 4 overall prospect from the state of California.
