USC target and five-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor commits to South Carolina

Nyckoles Harbor goes to USC. Bad news: It’s the other USC, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Good news: Harbor doesn’t go to Oregon. It’s not all bad.

Nyckoles has found safe Harbor.

The recruitment of Nyckoles Harbor contained a lot of twists and turns, but the journey will end in Columbia, South Carolina.

Harbor, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end/edge rusher and Olympic sprinter, ended his recruitment Wednesday by announcing he committed to South Carolina during a ceremony at his school.

“It’s Beamer Ball,” Harbor said in referring to Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer. “He is the hottest recruiter in America, which everybody is learning. It’s a great school overall and he is building something great there. He is looking to get to the playoffs and get up there.”

Harbor (6-foot-5, 225 pounds) is arguably the most versatile player in this recruiting class. He plays wide receiver and edge and serves as a returner on special teams. He is ranked first among prospects who play multiple positions and is No. 19 nationally.

Harbor played defensive end and tight end at Archbishop Carroll, and he was asked to block regularly.

He made 15 catches for 439 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. He also had 45 tackles and 5.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
