Can USC keep the pipeline of Mater Dei Monarchs to Heritage Hall? The Trojans will try. They should make a hard push to land Nasir Wyatt after missing out on Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa of St. John Bosco. If the Trojans fall short with Bosco prospects, their chances should be better with Mater Dei.
The class of 2025 outside linebacker Nasir Wyatt from Mater Dei (CA) has been an elite prospect on the Trojans’ radar and will take another visit this summer.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete is the fifth Mater Dei recruit in his class to earn an offer from the Trojans after the program offered seven Monarchs in the class of 2024.
Wyatt has other offers from Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Cal, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan State, Nevada, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Utah, Washington and Western Kentucky.
Wyatt’s most recent visits were to Oregon in early May and USC in mid-March. Last year, he stopped by USC and Oklahoma, in addition to the multiple national camps in which he was featured.
As a sophomore at Mater Dei, Wyatt recorded 47 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, four quarterback hurries, six pass deflections, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. MaxPreps named Wyatt to its Sophomore All-America First Team and its California All-State First Team as a result.
Wyatt is rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals, ESPN and On3, but he comes in at five stars in the 247Sports composite. In the 247Sports composite, Wyatt is ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher in the country, the No. 2 player in California, and the No. 24 overall prospect in his class.
