Jayvan Boggs, a four-star wide receiver from Cocoa, Florida, committed to Missouri on the Fourth of July — announcing his commitment live on the Rivals Instagram page.
From 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins’ analysis on Boggs:
“Has multi-year Power Four starter upside and could work his rotation sooner rather than later as he doesn’t lack polish.”
Boggs was also named to the 2023 MaxPreps High School Football Junior All-America Team.
Boggs earned all-state and national recongnition, dominating as a junior with 93 receptions for 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2023.
Boggs picked Mizzou over UCF, USC, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame among more than two dozen schools. He had scheduled official visits to Georgia and USC in July, but canceled those trips to be a Missouri Tiger.
USC did just win a recruitment against Missouri for a wide receiver. It won the Corey Simms recruitment against the Tigers and Penn State. Among the various recruitments USC has lost out on in recent weeks, this one won’t sting a whole lot. The Trojans need to beef up their defense more than anything, and their defensive line in particular.
