USC lagged behind Oregon in facilities but decided to do something about it

Oregon’s facilities are state of the art. #USC is finally making a concerted effort to update its infrastructure.

We know that with Phil Knight’s investments leading the way, Oregon has developed modern and attractive facilities which have undeniably turbo-boosted the Ducks’ recruiting. USC has many recruiting advantages in Los Angeles, but facilities are not at the top of the list.

USC football analyst Tim Prangley notes that the Trojans have made a fresh commitment to developing their facilities:

“Oregon has boasted state-of-the-art sports facilities that rival the best in the Big Ten and SEC for years while USC always lagged embarrassingly behind. Two weeks ago, USC President Carol Folt announced that USC was creating a state-of-the-art football-only athletic facility. Once built, USC facilities will be on par with, if not better than, anything in Eugene,” Prangley told us.

“The media and recruits have praised the Ducks’ uniforms, but I believe that the novelty of the uniforms will wear off if the Pac-12 does not secure a major media contract that continues to give the Ducks the exposure that USC will have in the Big Ten. USC playing nationally televised games on Fox, giving its players vastly superior coverage to attract attention from NIL collectives and NFL scouts, will mean much more than Oregon’s third uniform in September.”
