It was already a big weekend for North Carolina. It heads to Raleigh to face NC State on Sunday afternoon. But now, the must-win game becomes even bigger for Hubert Davis’ team.
On Friday, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi listed the Tar Heels as one of the last four teams in the field. On Saturday morning, he made a daily update on Twitter and it wasn’t good news for the Tar Heels.
Lunardi now has UNC out of the field of 68 and replaced by USC.
The Trojans are coming off a win over Cal on Thursday night, and were firmly on the bubble. After that game, Lunardi did not have them in the field on Friday’s update. However, something during the hours between Friday’s update and Saturday’s moved them past UNC.

The bottom line for the Tar Heels is they have to win as many of these last five games as they can. That begins with Sunday’s game at NC State; it could be a big Quad 1 win for the Tar Heels.
