Former South Carolina running back Mario Anderson has announced his top three schools: Memphis, USC and Oklahoma, as On3’s Pete Nakos reported
After four seasons at Newberry in Division II, Anderson transferred to South Carolina this past offseason. In his lone season with the Gamecocks, he ran for 707 yards and three touchdowns on 143 carries as the team’s lead back after replacing MarShawn Lloyd who transferred to USC in 2023.
If the Trojans are able to earn his commitment, Anderson would provide leadership to a really young running back room next season.
The Trojans are also planning on running the ball more next season in the Big Ten. Losing Caleb Williams, they will need to rely more on the run next season.
Getting a South Carolina transfer running back worked out well for USC this past season. Though the team struggled and a lot of the pieces didn’t come together the way Lincoln Riley hoped they would, one bright spot was MarShawn Lloyd. This former Gamecock excelled as a Trojan. Maybe history could repeat itself at USC.
#USC is hosting a key transfer target starting tonight as South Carolina RB transfer Mario Anderson gets into Los Angeles this evening. Anderson was just visited by Trojans RBs coach Kiel McDonald. https://t.co/8G366qt096
