The USC Trojans are expected to have one of the best teams of the Andy Enfield era next season. Leading scorer Boogie Ellis returns and USC adds a marquee recruiting class that includes five-star guards Bronny James and Isaiah Collier, who was the 2023 National High School Player of the Year.
Andy Enfield will have one of the nation’s premier backcourts next season with Ellis and Collier, the No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class. Expect those two to handle most of the scoring responsibilities, while Kobe Johnson and Washington State transfer D.J. Rodman will provide defensive toughness and 3-point shooting. If Bronny James is able to play, USC’s perimeter will be as deep and versatile as any in college basketball.
The Trojans finished 22-9 in the 2022-23 season with a first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament, a 72-62 loss to Michigan State.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi dropped his first NCAA Tournament projection of the offseason on Monday. He lists USC as a No. 6 seed in the Midwest Region taking on the winner of No. 11 seeds Florida and New Mexico.
USC has made the NCAA Tournament in three consecutive years. It would have been four if the pandemic had not wiped out the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
