Four-star recruit Jaylen Harvey hails from Gaithersburg, Maryland. He stands at 6-2 and 235 pounds. He holds numerous offers, but he recently narrowed his list to Penn State who is favorite and also Maryland, Tennessee, Florida and the USC Trojans on Monday.
Harvey has taken official visits to USC along with, Florida and Penn State so far in June. Maryland will receive an official visit from him this weekend. He is currently scheduled to announce his college decision on the Fourth of July.
Harvey is the No. 28 edge rusher in the 2024 class and the No. 8 recruit in Maryland, according to 247Sports. The industry-generated 247Sports composite rankings have the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Harvey as the No. 349 recruit in the 2024 class, the No. 25 edge rusher and the No. 10 prospect in Maryland.
USC needs high-end pass rushers as it enters a Big Ten Conference with Ohio State and Wisconsin. OSU has become a quarterback and wide receiver factory for the NFL, and Wisconsin — after years of playing smashmouth ball — is moving toward a modernized passing attack under new offensive coordinator Phil Longo, one of the bigger decisions made by first-year head coach Luke Fickell.
