USC basketball Andy Enfield loves the roster his staff has assembled

Andy Enfield knows this roster is far deeper and more talented than anything he has previously had at #USC.

The USC Trojans finally have a Cadillac basketball roster, a group of players with high-end talent and the depth to match.

Andy Enfield has his imperfections as a head coach, but a coach is usually only as good as his roster. Enfield has never previously had the perfect roster at USC, a group which is very good at all five spots on the floor, has elite players in at least two positions, and has substantial depth in both the frontcourt and backcourt.

The 2021 USC team which made the Elite Eight had a good mix of length and power. It was very tough to score against. When the Trojans received quality 3-point shooting from Tahj Eaddy in support of Evan Mobley, USC was extremely tough to beat. However, that team didn’t have an elite point guard, and it didn’t have the front-to-back depth of a team which could make the Final Four. Gonzaga crushed USC and exposed the 2021 team’s limitations in the Elite Eight.

This team, however? This 2023-2024 group has the added strengths the 2021 team lacked. Coach Andy Enfield knows he has the raw material which can translate into a tremendous season in Los Angeles.

“USC basketball has been on the rise,” Enfield said. “We feel great about our roster this year. It’s a great mix of older, experienced players that are very good and talented as well as the third-ranked recruiting class in the country with four extremely talented freshmen. This is a big year for us, but it’s going to be a lot of fun to see our team and these players develop.”

USC begins a Greece-and-Croatia international tour on August 5.
