USC athletic director notebook: May 28

We discussed various aspects of the #USC AD search and selection process with @MarkRogersTV at the @VoiceOfCFB:

There is a lot to keep track of with the USC athletic director search. One thing to keep in mind at the outset is that when we refer to “candidates,” we are not referring to people who have formally announced their candidacies, or to people who have been placed on USC’s short list. We don’t have that level of detail or development in the search. Right now, a “candidate” is merely someone we think USC should consider as an option.

While we all consider candidates, we also have to ask some questions about the interview process. We have to map out a plan for USC, going into detail on the topics Carol Folt and others need to ask candidates once they get them in the interview room. We need to look at the situations the new USC athletic director will inherit, and what those situations will mean for the Trojans as they enter the Big Ten Conference.

We tackled USC’s athletic director position on a lot of different levels — including the fallout from Mike Bohn’s resignation — on our recent broadcast of The Voice of College Football with host Mark Rogers:
