USC 3-point shooting remains a problem

The USC Trojans lost to Oregon, and they hit just four three-pointers on the night in a tough loss.

The USC Trojans fell to the Oregon Ducks in Eugene on Thursday night in a tough loss.

Oregon defeated USC, 78-60, in a rough offensive performance from Andy Enfield’s team. USC scored just 27 points in the first half and trailed by 15 going into the intermission.

The Trojans’ four-game winning streak came to an end on Thursday night, and the 60 points were the fewest they have scored since January 5 in the loss to UCLA.

One concerning point was the 3-point shooting. USC finished the game just 4-of-16 from beyond the arc (25 percent), which is below their season percentage. On the year, the Trojans are shooting just 32.5 percent, good for 266th in the country.

USC went just 1-of-8 in the second half, and the lack of scorers really bit the Trojans on Thursday night.

Boogie Ellis led the way with 19 points, and he hit three from beyond the arc. The only other three came from Kobe Johnson,

USC doesn’t have much time to sit around and reflect: The Trojans face Oregon State on Saturday evening.
