Florida baseball made it to the semifinals of the 2023 Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament before getting bounced by the Vanderbilt Commodores — the first win in five tries this spring against the Gators. While the loss certainly bruised the ego of Kevin O’Sullivan’s squad, it did little in the grand scheme of things to slow this team down.
Despite the failure in bringing home the SEC title, the Orange and Blue remained ranked second according to the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll for Week 15. The lowest Florida has been listed this season so far is No. 6, which came in Week 2 after starting in the preseason poll at No. 5; it had peaked previously at No. 3 three weeks prior to this update before claiming the No. 2 spot.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons remain in the top spot for the fourth week in a row.
The Orange and Blue are joined by fellow Southeastern Conference schools the Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 3), Vanderbilt Commodores (No. 4), LSU Tigers (No. 6), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 16), South Carolina (No. 18) and Kentucky Wildcats (No. 21) in this week’s top 25. The Auburn Tigers dropped out after being ranked No. 25 in the previous poll.
