The latest USA Today Sports Coaches Poll was released Sunday, and as expected, the Tigers fell down the rankings with their recent 35-14 loss to Notre Dame.
It was an upset loss for the Tigers, who got outcoached and outplayed on the road Saturday night. Clemson 8-1 (6-0 ACC) was previously ranked No.5 but dropped to No.12 in the most recent installment of the rankings. Notre Dame entered the rankings once again, making its way to No.25.
Clemson’s loss snapped their 14-game winning streak, which was the longest winning streak in the nation at the time. Their home win streak remains intact though they end their season with three straight in Death Valley, so anything is possible.
Before the Notre Dame game, Clemson clinched the ACC’s Atlantic Division with Syracuse’s 19-9 loss to Pittsburgh.
