The Jets snapped their three-game losing streak in Week 12, traveling to Houston and defeating the Texans by a final score of 21-14.
New York’s win over the Texans might have hurt its draft position, but it improved its standing in the latest set of USA TODAY NFL Power Rankings. The Jets moved up one spot from 30th to 29th, which is where the Jaguars ranked before losing their 13th straight road game. Gang Green will have a chance to make it two in a row and move up again with a win over the Eagles on Sunday.
Every other team in the AFC East also improved its place in the rankings with a win over the weekend. The Dolphins extended their winning streak to four and moved up in the rankings from 26th to 22nd. The Bills helped themselves with a win over the Saints, which moved them up from 12th to 11th. The Patriots are now in the top five, jumping from sixth to fourth with a road win over the Titans.
Joining New England in the top five are the Packers, Buccaneers, Cardinals and Chiefs. Green Bay jumped into the top spot after defeating the sputtering Rams at home, while the Buccaneers stood pat at No. 2. The Cardinals dropped from first to third and the Chiefs fell from fourth to fifth.
