USA TODAY gives Oklahoma an A- grade for 2019

The 2019 Sooners posted a 12-3 record, earning themselves an A- grade amongst the 130 college football teams in the Bowl Subdivison according to USA TODAY Sports.

The 2019 Sooners posted a 12-2 record and a Big 12 Championship, but suffered a bad loss to LSU in the Peach Bowl, earning themselves an A- grade amongst the 130 college football teams in the Bowl Subdivison according to USA TODAY Sports.

Before Oklahoma suffered a 35-point loss to national champion LSU in the first round of the playoffs, they were probably still hanging onto a perfect A+ rating. They had a 12-1 record and earned their fifth straight Big 12 Championship. Joe Burrow throwing for over 500 yards and seven touchdowns ruined their chance at that, but an A- grade still puts them among several elite teams.

Baylor, Clemson, LSU and Minnesota were the only four teams to earn the A+ grade this season. Clemson and LSU earned perfect regular seasons, and only LSU finished the season with no losses. Baylor improved significantly from 7-6 last year to 11-3 this year. Minnesota had their best season in program history at 11-2.

Air Force, Appalachain State, Florida, Memphis, Navy Ohio State and SMU all earned A grades. SMU was the only three-loss team to earn an A rating.

With Oklahoma at A- is Boise State, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Indian, Iowa, Lousiana-Lafayette, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, and Western Kentucky.
