USA Basketball tipped off its five-game exhibition schedule ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup with a dominating win over Puerto Rico.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards led the Americans with 15 points, four assists and four steals in the 117-74 victory in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges of the Brooklyn Nets combined for 29 points.

- Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks: 11 points, 12 rebounds
- Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans: 11 points, 5 rebounds

The group will resume its exhibition run with a pair of games this weekend in Malaga, Spain. They will face Slovenia on Saturday and Spain on Sunday before traveling to Abu Dhabi for two final games next week prior to their first game of the tournament on Aug. 26.
They will face a team on Saturday playing without Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, who is coming off a 34-point triple-double on Tuesday in a win over Montenegro. He was ruled out early on Saturday for precautionary reasons following the last game.
