Former Alabama wide receiver [autotag]Jerry Jeudy[/autotag] is about to enter his third season in the NFL with the Denver Broncos after being drafted by the franchise at No. 15 overall in the 2020 NFL draft. On Thursday, news broke that he was arrested in Arapahoe County, Colorado.
Jeudy was arrested around noon on May 13 just outside of Denver and charges were not yet known to the public, as he had yet to be booked.
USA TODAY Sports Denver Broncos beat writer Parker Gabriel reported on the arrest, but the Arapahoe County Sheriffs’ Office later shared the charges.

The sheriff’s office tweeted out the charges, which include “[second] degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer.” The charge is a misdemeanor. Because of the “no bond hold,” Jeudy will be detained until he can see a judge.

Gabriel reports,
“According to a police report submitted to the Arapahoe County court, Jeudy’s girlfriend, Antoinette Tharp, told a deputy that ‘things got crazy’ with Jeudy on Wednesday night and he put her wallet and medical paperwork for their infant child in his car at their home so she could not get them.”
Law enforcement stated that Jeudy cooperated at all times and the incident at no point had physical violence taken place.
Broncos General Manager Nathaniel Hackett briefly spoke on Jeudy’s arrest after it was made public.
“Right now, it’s an unfortunate incident. We’re trying to gather as much information as we possibly can,” Hackett said. “We take these situations very seriously. We want to be sure we get all the information, we want to talk with Jerry, we want to be there for him and make sure we do all the right things.”
Jeudy is scheduled to see a judge early Friday morning.
