With the conclusion of Week 5’s action, one that was headlined by a massive top five showdown in Tuscaloosa, every SEC team has now officially played at-least one game so far this season in conference play.

Here are the updated SEC football standings after Week 5:

2024 SEC Football Standings after Week 5

1. Texas A&M (2-0)

T-2. Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee, LSU (1-0)

T-7. Oklahoma, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida (1-1)

12. Kentucky (1-2)

T-13. Ole Miss, Vanderbilt (0-1)

T-15. Auburn, Mississippi State (0-2)

As indicated above, SEC play has officially begun for every team across the conference, but there is an early season logjam in the middle of the standings due to teams not having played that many games.

Texas A&M currently sits atop the conference, as the Aggies are the lone SEC team sitting at 2-0.

After opening SEC play with a 41-34 home win over Georgia, Alabama will now resume conference action during Week 6 by traveling to Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide will certainly be favorites to advance to remain undefeated in SEC play going into that game.
