The defending champion LSU Tigers finally open the college football season on Saturday as Mississippi State comes to Baton Rouge.
Both teams look incredibly different this year, as the Tigers lost 14 players to the 2020 NFL Draft alone, on top of undrafted free agent signings and opt-outs ahead of the season, not to mention the many members of the staff who left for new opportunities after the national championship victory over Clemson.
As for the Bulldogs, they’ll look new especially on offense this year, under the guidance of head coach Mike Leach and with former Stanford graduate transfer quarterback K.J. Costello at the helm.
The Tigers opened as 18.5-point favorites earlier this week, according to BetMGM, and, as of 12:00 a.m. ET on Friday, LSU is a 16.5-point favorite.
