Updated list of Packers free agents heading into new league year

Reviewing where the Packers stand in free agency following the two-day legal tampering window.

The two-day legal tampering window changed the roster-building outlook for the Green Bay Packers, who signed veteran linebacker Christian Kirksey and offensive tackle Rick Wagner to patch holes and replace departing free agents.

The NFL’s new league year officially begins on Wednesday. It’s time to update where the Packers stand with their own free agents.

The following players have found new homes during the legal tampering period:

– TE Jimmy Graham (Chicago Bears)
– LB Blake Martinez (New York Giants)
– RT Bryan Bulaga (Los Angeles Chargers
– OLB Kyler Fackrell (New York Giants)

The following players have received the minimum salary tender as exclusive rights free agents:

– WR Jake Kumerow
– TE Robert Tonyan
– DL Tyler Lancaster
– CB Chandon Sullivan
– WR Allen Lazard

The following player re-signed before the legal tampering period:

– K Mason Crosby

Packers’ remaining free agents:

– CB Tramon Williams: Turned 37 on Tuesday but proved in 2019 he can still play.

– WR Geronimo Allison: Coming off a terrible season and could be available for a while.

– TE Marcedes Lewis: Experienced run blocker has value but is nearing the end.

– DB Will Redmond: Can be exposed in coverage but emerged as a versatile defensive back and a valuable member of the special teams.

– LB B.J. Goodson: Two-down run defender who can’t be trusted to play on passing downs.

– DB Ibraheim Campbell: Came back from a torn ACL and reassumed a role as a hybrid safety/linebacker for Mike Pettine.

– FB Danny Vitale: Caught three passes over 20 yards in 2019 and remains a good fit in Matt LaFleur’s scheme.

– OT Jared Veldheer: Veteran stop gap at offensive tackle.

– RB/KR Tyler Ervin: Revived the Packers’ return game and played a gadget role for the offense to end 2019 season.

– OT Jason Spriggs: Second-round pick in 2016 never developed into a starting-caliber player. Missed entire 2019 season with injury.

– WR Ryan Grant: Signed as an emergency option at receiver and never played a single down for the Packers.

– FB Malcolm Johnson (restricted): Had a few strong moments in camp but spent the 2019 season on injured reserve.
